Acceptance of Terms and Conditions

All bookings or purchases made with us are made subject to these terms and conditions.  Your decision to proceed with booking/purchase/skydive indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

 

Bookings Required

Bookings are required, especially during peak times.  Walk in’s will only be accepted subject to availability. To book your skydive visit our visit www.skydivebayofislands.com,  alternatively phone 0800 465 867 or email jump@skydivebayofislands.com.

 

Weather

Skydiving is a weather dependent activity.  Please call Skydive Bay of Islands 1 hour before your arrival or pick up time for confirmation that the weather is still suitable for your booking time – there is a chance that we may have to delay the booking.  Refer also the Weather Cancellation Policy below.

 

Time Required/Duration

We recommend you arrive with no time constraints.  You should allow 3 hours for the activity, but if  we need to wait for weather conditions to improve or other operational constraints, the time required to complete your skydive may exceed this timeframe.

 

Identification Required

Please bring your government issued photo ID with you.

 

Safety and Acceptance of Risk

Your safety is important to us.  However, no skydive can be guaranteed risk free.  Skydiving is an adventure sport and by its very nature involves inherent risk.  Your safety is dependent on many factors and while we make every effort to manage the risks to as low as reasonably practicable, on rare occasions, residual risks can materialise.  These risks include equipment not performing as required or expected, human error, unpredictable weather conditions/turbulence or the effects of altitude.  Before participating you will be asked to read and sign a recognition of risk waiver and a high altitude waiver which provides more information on the risks.  You will be asked to acknowledge that you understand and accept that residual risks remain that could cause or contribute to your injury or death. 

 

Tandem Passenger Obligations

For your own safety and the safety of others, you must comply with the safety briefing and your Tandem Master’s instructions.

 

Limitations/ Special Considerations

 

Mobility and weight:  Safety considerations apply.  Anyone weighing over 100kg or with mobility issues should contact our office directly for further information.

 

Scuba Diving:  You must not scuba dive within 24 hours before the scheduled skydive jump time.

 

Drugs and Alcohol:  For your own safety and the safety of all customers and staff, you must not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol when you skydive.  We reserve the right to refuse customers who are suspected of being intoxicated or having impaired judgment.

 

Medical Conditions:  You will be asked to declare any pre-existing medical conditions, injuries or illnesses.  It is important you are honest and open with us so we can ensure you are fit to skydive and can take any additional precautions to keep you safe during your skydive.  Please contact our office directly in advance for further information if you have any questions about this.

 

Under 18: Persons under the age of 18 will require parental consent prior to their jump by a parent or legal guardian. This can be completed on the day. If you won’t be accompanied by a parent or guardian on the day, please contact us for a parental consent form. If you do not have it on the day, you will not be allowed to jump.

 

High Altitude – 16,000 ft & 18,000ft:  Skydives from 16,00 ft & 18,000ft AGL are subject to additional risks, operational requirements and limitations. You will briefed on the additional risks and required to sign a high altitude waiver at the drop zone on the day. It is also possible that if conditions aren’t suitable for us to proceed to that altitude, we reserve the right to alter the exit height slightly for safety / operational reasons.

 

24 Hour Free-Cancellation Policy

Bookings (online or by phone) are considered firm bookings.  You may cancel or postpone your booking for any reason by giving us notice at least 24 hours before you are booked to jump with us.  You may be charged in full for the booked skydive if you do not give us 24 hours notice of cancellation or do not arrive at your booking time.

 

Weather Cancellation Policy

If the weather is unsuitable for jumping on the day of your booking, we will attempt to find another suitable time to complete your skydive. If you have prepaid for your skydive and you are not able to jump due to weather cancellations made by our team, you may be entitled to a refund* (excluding any booking or credit card fees).  If you prepaid directly with Skydive Bay of Islands, we can process any refund direct, otherwise you will need to contact your booking agent. 

*Please note, this does not apply if you are paying by gift voucher -gift vouchers are not refundable for cash.  Refer the terms and conditions for other options for Vouchers below.

 

Exclusion of liability for Costs associated with Cancellation or Postponement

We are not liable for any inconvenience, costs or expenses you may incur due to cancellation or postponement of your jump.

 

Video & Photo Policy

In the event that your videos or photos malfunction, you will not be charged for your videos or photos. You will either receive a $50 refund on the jump price, or 20% off a second jump completed within 7 days. You will be required to pay the full price for media on the second jump.

 

Upgrade Height

We reserve the right to upgrade the jump height to a higher altitude at our expense.

 

Refusal to Exit

In the event you decide not to exit the aircraft to complete your skydive and instead descend in the aircraft , you remain liable for the full price for the skydive.

 

Pricing and GST

Prices are in New Zealand Dollars and include 15% GST (Goods and Service Tax). We do not accept payment in any other currency. Your card issuer may apply charges for currency conversion. These charges are applied by your card issuer, we accept no responsibility for these. We reserve the right to change our prices at any time.

 

Payment 

We accept many types of payment including Visa, Mastercard, and Cash. By using your Credit Card to make a booking you agree for us to take full payment from your credit card. Some credit cards and Paywave incur a surcharge at time of payment to cover the additional costs incurred by us in your choice of payment method.  There is no surcharge for Eftpos and debit cards inserted or swiped.

You must make full payment for your booking/purchase/skydive prior to or on the day of your skydive, otherwise, we may:

  • charge you a late payment fee, which reflects what it costs us to recover the money you haven’t paid; and
  • if you have an outstanding debt with us, we may pass that debt to a debt collection agency who will then have the right to collect that debt from you together with the costs incurred in recovering the money.

 

 

Online security

Your credit card details do not get processed or transmitted through or via our website. All transactions are processed through a secure payment service provider. Your credit card details are not held by us and cannot be accessed by our staff.

 

Vouchers /Combo & Deals

Vouchers are non-refundable and not redeemable for cash, but are transferable.  Vouchers purchased directly through Skydive Bay of Islands will expire 12 months after purchase. Combo deals and vouchers purchased via another site or booking agent will be subject to the terms and conditions attached to that purchase.. Please visit www.skydivebayofislands.com, phone 0800 465 867 or email jump@skydivebayofislands.com to book a date and time for your skydive. Failure to show at the date and time booked will render your voucher invalid. Remember to present your voucher and valid ID on check-in as without it, you will be unable to skydive. Please advise immediately if your voucher has been stolen, as once the voucher has been presented to us, no replacements will be available. Where the cost of your experience is greater than the value of your voucher, you will be required to pay the difference. Where the cost of your experience is less than the value of your voucher you will NOT be entitled to a cash refund (however you may use the remaining balance towards merchandise or media packages).

 

Applicable Law

These Terms and Conditions, and any booking, purchase or experience with us, are deemed subject to these terms and conditions, and are made in New Zealand and subject to the laws of New Zealand, and no other country.
